Scullen Middle School

Indian Prairie School District 204

Leslie Mitchell

Welcome to Scullen and the 2017-2018 school year! This is my 14th year serving in District 204, and I’m honored to be spending it with your children. Prior to transferring to Scullen, I was an 8th grade ELA teacher at Crone and Fischer Middle Schools before moving into administration at Gregory Middle School as an assistant principal. I am thrilled to begin my second year as a Scullen Shark and my first year as principal of this amazing building!

Our community can count on me to support staff members, advocate for students, and collaborate with parents. I am committed to making Scullen a home away from home for all of our Sharks, and I look forward to working with parents in an effort to make busy and stressful lives a little more manageable. Parenting is a difficult job so let’s do it together!

If I can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. GO SHARKS!

Assistant Principal

Scott Loughrige

Welcome to Scullen!  I am proud to serve the students, parents, and teachers of Scullen Middle School. My experience includes over fifteen years as a music educator, a school dean, track coach, and music therapist. Scullen is an amazing school and I look forward to making the middle school experience here a memorable one for all students.

At Scullen, we strive to Inspire all students to achieve their greatest potential. As educators, we work with students to develop in academics, but also grit, curiosity, self-control, gratitude, social intelligence, optimism, and zest as character strengths for success.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of any assistance to you or your child. As I often say to the students on a daily basis "Work Hard and Be Nice" and GO SHARKS!

Assistant Principal

Joe Parratore

I am honored to be joining the Scullen community as your new assistant principal for the 2017-18 school year. This year will be my 11th year as an educator and first in District 204. Previously I taught social studies at Percy Julian Middle School in Oak Park and Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream. I am excited to share the passion I have for the middle school philosophy and the benefits a middle school can have on the development of a child both academically and socially. We here at Scullen are striving to create an environment where your child feels safe and is excited to come learn each day!

At Scullen, we believe it requires a team effort to help our students succeed and we look forward to building a great relationship with our parents and community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you have regarding your child’s experience here at Scullen. I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the school year. Go SHARKS!
